7 out of 10 customers say they have added an item to their cart for the sole purpose of taking advantage of a discount (Networkrail). To improve your conversion rates, why not start experimenting with these three new discount rules you can set-up in your back office.
Discount based on quantity
For example, for every 3 products purchased -> the 4th is free! Offer the same product or a completely different product from the ones purchased and be creative with discounts and promotional offers that both retain and convert customers.
The group discount feature allows you to apply a discount based on the number of items in the basket. This discount only applies to a defined group of articles. It can be applied to single items, item options, or bundles.
For example, when a customer purchases 10 pairs of jeans from the women’s jeans category (all sizes and colours), they are entitled to 10% discount!
A + B Discount
This set-up proposes a discount related to different articles purchased together.
For example, if the customer purchases item A plus item B this triggers a discount only on these items (and not on all the other items in the basket). Instead of giving a discount, you can propose item C, or just a discount on item C.
These new features will help you clear stock, drive more conversions and increase your average order value.
